Meet Our Minister

We welcome Rev. Dr. Karen Boivin to the virtual pulpit as an interim minister.

Karen grew up in a military family moving across Canada, and returning every summer to her parent’s  rural roots in St. Stephen, New Brunswick. Her family settled in Ottawa where Karen completed a Bachelor of Business Admin degree at Ottawa U. and worked in accounting where she met her husband John. In her early thirties Karen had a spiritual experience that set off a long fifteen year journey towards ministry while she focused on raising their two children. She became a licensed lay worship leader and then a student minister serving at Orleans, Southminister, Carp/Dunrobin and Tottenham/Rich Hill Pastoral Charges. She was ordained in 2007 after completing her Masters of Divinity at Queens. She served in Maxville/Apple Hill, Carp/Dunrobin, Ashton/Munster and City View Pastoral Charges.  Hoping to encourage more people to share their spiritual experiences, Karen also completed a Doctor of Ministry in Reformed Spirituality at Pittsburgh Theological Seminary.  Karen retired two years ago and has been enjoying many of the blessings of life by camping, playing Celtic fiddle music, sewing and researching her ancestors.
